A Green Office

Spaulding Communications is dedicated to being an environmentally responsible company for this and future generations. We are continuously evaluating and improving everything we do to better reduce, reuse and recycle. Some of our corporate social responsibility initiatives include:

Reducing:

To reduce gas consumption, decrease CO2 emissions, and ultimately help create better air quality for metro Atlanta, we offer our employees the opportunity to work from home each month.

Our office is also conveniently located within walking distance of MARTA, Atlanta’s public rail system. This offers employees, clients and partners an alternative to using automobile transportation.

We reduce our energy usage by using high efficiency lights throughout the office and by turning off all lights when not needed during the workday. We also encourage our employees, clients and partners to print only the most essential emails and documents necessary.

Reusing:

Even though we use recycled paper for virtually every document we create, we go an additional step by printing our used paper on both sides. Each Spaulding Communications employee uses his or her own reusable drinking cup, greatly reducing the amount of paper or plastic cups thrown away. We also use an erasable “paint wall” for brainstorming and planning. This allows us to reuse the same wall for every meeting without wasting easel paper.

Recycling:

Spaulding Communications recycles almost every material we come in contact with, including newspapers, magazines, cardboard, plastic, aluminum, junk mail, used ink cartridges and electronic equipment. We specified our office to have carpet made with recycled content. At the end of its useful life, the carpet we selected can be recycled rather than sent to a landfill.

Spaulding Communications is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Atlanta Chapter, the Southface Energy Institute, and the American Solar Energy Society.
