Public Relations Intern (Remote & Part Time)

Spaulding Communications is seeking a highly motivated Public Relations intern. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, multi-tasker and problem solver.  He or she must be able to work remotely several hours per week and possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Candidates should have some experience working on PR, marketing or social media activities.  Candidates with B2B marketing experience – especially in the building, construction and design industries – are an added plus. Experience working with Excel, Google Analytics and with email marketing platforms such as MailChimp is also bonus.

The PR Intern will gain valuable experience by working alongside the agency president and other agency team members. The intern may also interact directly with clients and the media.

Core activities could include:

  • Distributing press releases to the media
  • Pitching and conducting media follow up
  • Updating agency media contact lists
  • Writing and editing media documents, including press releases, FAQs, blog articles, etc.
  • Updating monthly media coverage and quarterly social media reports
  • Conducting media research on behalf of SC and clients
  • Assisting agency president with business development and agency operations activities
  • Assisting with agency blog posts, social media efforts and e-newsletter distribution (via HubSpot)

The ideal candidate is available to work Monday through Friday during traditional business hours.  Estimated hours per week range from 4-8 hours. Compensation is competitive.

Position Announcement:

Senior Account Executive
Remote-Based/Contract Position

Spaulding Communications is seeking a Senior Account Executive to accelerate its clients’ success. This is a part-time, remote-based and freelance/contract position opportunity. Candidates possessing B2B experience, especially within the commercial building, construction, design and furnishings industries, is an added plus.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years public relations experience, including at least three years of agency experience. He or she should have proven experience in managing multifaceted accounts, setting and leading client meetings, and managing internal and external resources with proven success. He or she should also have experience with social media and digital media, collateral development and online events.

Core activities associated with the position include:

  • Setting and leading client meetings to discuss and determine key priorities
  • Managing client activities to established budgets
  • Managing internal and external resources such as agency partners and vendors to ensure all projects are completed on time and accurately
  • Conducting all forms of media relations work, including: press release writing, media pitching and follow up; updating media contacts lists
  • Creating and overseeing client monthly reports, including media coverage, website analytics, social media, etc.
  • Developing and executing strategic plans
  • Building tailored media lists
  • Researching publication advertising rates and audience demographics
  • Assisting agency president with new business, agency operations and other efforts to provide more value to clients

Matching the Spaulding Communications’ culture, the Senior Account Executive must possess a client-centered, solution-oriented and anticipatory mindset. As a remote-based position, this professional must be a proven self-starter, multi-tasker and problem solver. He or she should be highly comfortable working directly with clients and agency partners.

The candidate must be available to work during business hours each day, Monday through Friday. Estimated time per week ranges from 10-12 hours, with more expected. A competitive hourly pay will be provided.

Freelance B2B Writer and Content Developer

Spaulding Communications, a specialized PR and digital media agency serving brands in the commercial building and design industry, is looking to add a freelance writer to its stable of resources to meet its clients’ various content needs.

This professional will have excellent B2B writing skills. He/she will have experience taking complex issues and themes and distilling them down into simple-to-read, yet compelling content.

The writer will be highly knowledgeable of the commercial architecture, building and interior design industries. He/she will know the B2B sales journey in these industries, including the various key decision-making audiences and their roles in the building and design process.

This professional will have proven experience writing and developing content such as, but not limited, to: white papers, bylines, press releases, opinion pieces, “how to” articles, blog posts, video scripts, FAQs and other pieces for marketing use or media publication. Experience in developing content for CEUs or presentations that showcase a point of view or bring thought-leadership to a brand is also desired.

All work can be done remotely. The amount and type of projects will vary from month to month. Spaulding Communications is flexible to compensation for freelancers based on their hourly rate or by a project fee.
