Four Major Trends Emerged From This Year’s Show

More than 55,00 people attended KBIS 2025

Last week, KBIS — North America’s largest kitchen and bath industry show — took over Las Vegas with more than 600 exhibitors and 55,000 attendees. At the show, brands showed off their newest innovations, most popular designs, and emerging technologies, with a strong focus on bold personalization. What were the top trends from KBIS 2025? Here are the top trends we identified.

Trend One:  Eco-Friendly and Nature-Inspired Design

Environmental responsibility continues to be front and center in kitchen and bath design. Discerning clients generally appreciate brands with sustainably-manufactured products, from tile and countertops to cabinetry and fixtures.

Innovative Recycling Solutions:

Recycled and upcycled materials were prevalent, including vanities made from reclaimed wood and recycled metal, as well as carbon-neutral quartz countertops and sintered stones. Made of sustainable PET fibers and recycled materials, Linear Wave ceiling tiles from Qwel are sound-dampening and resist mold and mildew; plus the design, material, and raw manufacturing are all domestically sourced.

Energy and Water Saving:

Energy- and water-saving solutions are especially popular for their budget-saving qualities. Fixtures that directly tackle waste issues, like filtration to reduce bottled water usage, were also at the show.

Inspired by Nature:

For the last several years, there has been a collective shift toward integrating natural elements and aesthetics into interior spaces. In the bathroom in particular, the serenity of water is utilized in nature-inspired designs featuring neutral shades, organic materials, and patterns that evoke a connection to the outside world. Meanwhile the kitchen uses similar looks evoking greenery, florals, and more. Inspired by the movement of air, Splendor from LX Hausys’ VIATERA Suprema Collection has a bold and elegant aesthetic with striking golden veins flowing diagonally across a soft white background.

Trend Two: Antique-Meets-Modern

Also termed the Grand Millennial trend, traditional design elements are being blended with contemporary pieces to create spaces that feel both nostalgic and modern. Exhibitors at KBIS incorporated classic motifs such as floral chintzes and botanical prints — reminiscent of vintage designs — into wallpapers, upholstery, and tiles and put them against modern lines. These patterns added a touch of timeless elegance to various displays at the show.

Tactile Touches:

The use of materials like wicker, rattan, and cane was evident, bringing warmth and texture to the designs. These elements were often paired with modern fixtures, creating a harmonious blend of old and new.

Vintage-Inspired Fixtures:

Many booths featured fixtures and hardware with vintage flair — such as brass faucets and ornate lighting — evoking a sense of nostalgia while maintaining modern functionality. The ROHL Apothecary Collection by House of Rohl draws its inspiration from the beautiful shapes of old apothecary bottles that are now considered collectibles.

Designed by Xander Noori, Apothecary from the House of Rohl features unique chamfered details, beveled edges, and balanced arcs.

Personalized Decor:

Designers emphasized personalization by showcasing spaces adorned with heirloom pieces, framed family photos, and other sentimental items, reflecting the Grand Millennial emphasis on individuality and storytelling.

Trend Three: Statement-Making Spaces

Gone are the days of serene, neutral backgrounds; bold colors and dramatic pieces are now used to characterize spaces. This exemplifies a growing desire among homeowners and designers to infuse personal expression and bold aesthetics into kitchen and bath designs, moving beyond traditional norms to create spaces that reflect individual style

Colorful Cabinetry:

According to the NKBA, a significant 52 percent of industry experts identified cabinets as a primary area for incorporating statement colors, moving away from neutral tones to more dynamic shades.

Bold Appliances:

Companies like BlueStar introduced appliances in more than 1,000 custom color options and 10 metal trims, allowing homeowners to tailor their kitchens to their personal tastes. With BlueStar’s new 48-in. Induction Range taking center stage, palettes in their KBIS booth were showcased in colors ranging from Black Green to Signal Brown.

BlueStar’s 48-in. Induction Range is available in more than 1,000 colors and features a matte-finish cooktop that is resistant to scratches, stains, and fingerprints.

Dramatic Lighting:

Oversized pendant lights and chandeliers in bold designs and finishes were showcased at KBIS, adding visual interest and serving as central art pieces in kitchen and bath spaces.

Rich, Dark Color Palettes:

While lighter tones remain popular, there has been a notable shift toward deeper, more dramatic hues. Colors such as navy, forest green, and deep plum were incorporated into cabinetry, backsplashes, and feature walls, adding depth and luxury to interiors.

Trend Four: Streamlined Technology

Over the last decade, kitchens and bathrooms have continued to evolve into some of the most high-tech spaces in the home, with smart appliances, touchless fixtures, and AI integration to enhance convenience. Smart technology was more than just a feature at the show —it was a defining trend, reshaping how kitchens and bathrooms function in the modern home. Leading brands introduced AI-driven innovations, voice-activated solutions, and connected appliances that blend convenience, efficiency, and luxury.

AI & Automation in the Kitchen:

Smart appliances are making meal prep easier than ever. Brands like GE Profile showcased whole-home connectivity, introducing smart refrigerators and ranges that integrate with home automation systems.

Connected Bathrooms for Ultimate Comfort:

TOTO’s MIST SPA Shower and Kohler’s Veil Smart Toilet exemplified how technology is enhancing relaxation and hygiene. Meanwhile smart water filtration systems and innovative washers are also changing the way homeowners think about convenience and cleanliness.

Product Innovations:

Innovation that begins at the source can make all the difference for designers in the kitchen and bath space. Surface Synergies from Genesis Products is the industry’s most complete and advanced surface-matching system. Years of development, meticulous planning, and global exploration went into this program, where every type of decorative laminate can be transformed into components for residential kitchens and closets, along with case goods for hospitality, office, and healthcare. This includes TFL, HPL, 3DL, 2DL, Edge band and Coated Paper.
